September 20, 2004:

I want to remind our members of their right to contact their own legislators.  Of course such actions should be on your own time and use your personal computer.  It other words do not use FDIC resources or official time.  Chapter 260 has graciously provided directions and a sample letter on their website which is www.NTEU260. Click on Chapter News & Updates and follow the directions.

The email and attachment below are apparently causing FDIC Management some discomfort.  In the midst of massing downsizing recommendations, while reporting to Congress in the Work Force 21 Act of 2004 that the “FDIC will replace or retrain over 100 percent of its current workforce over the next ten years”  as a result of retirement and natural attrition, FDIC management ignores the deficiencies encouraged and promoted under Chairman Powell’s management.

The letter attached is the most on target composition I have ever read.  I am not aware of the identity of the author.  But, his/her remarks hit the center of the bull's eye.   Let’s hope this message gets out before irreparable harm is done!
